Three weeks ago I purchased 40, day old chicks (several breeds and all pullets) from a poultry hatchery. My question is this... Is one of the Silver Laced Wyandottes a cockeral instead of a pullet? I think maybe so. She/he is bigger than the rest, has red comb and pinkish wattles (although very small) and is much more assertive than “all” the others. I will post a picture I took today at 3 weeks old.

He/she has been very pushy from just a few days old. When I approach the brooder for any reason he (I’m calling it a he because we all agree that he more than likely is) runs right up to the front even if he has to run over all the others. When I reach inside to get the waterer or pick one of them up, he’s got to be in on whatever is happening. While others may scatter and run, he says, “whatcha doin’ in here”. I don’t mind that he’s a roo. With as many chickens as I plan to have I’ll need more than one rooster.
Thanks to everyone for your input. I really appreciate and enjoy hearing from y’all.
