Sorry for another pullet or cockerel post, but please say hen, lol!!

Very new to chickens and even newer to raising chicks. These two will be 11 weeks on Friday, initially the smaller one was bigger, but the predominately white one just blasted right past her and is bigger in every aspect. Not really sure what age they try to start crowing (although I've read most don't) or being aggressive, zero aggression and both super friendly chickens.

😫😩😩😩😩

Thank you for the quick replies. O boy not sure what to do or what my options are. I know nothing about having rooster so please bear with me with the 100 questions

Is it true that most don't crow? Is it possible he don't crow? My fear is the noise and neighbors complaining. If they do crow at what age typically do they start crowing?
Same thing with aggression, will he become aggressive towards me and or the other older hens (I have small kids). If so what age does that typically starting happening, he will be 11 weeks friday.

This is a dumb question or statement but typically happens with having a rooster, is he going to constantly mate with my hens? Will my eggs now be fertilized and have baby chicks? Can I still eat a fertilized egg? Sorry again for all the questions.......I have a lot research to do......

Not sure where you heard that most roosters don't crow? I'm no expert, just speaking from my experience. My hen Chickadee just had a clutch of chicks earlier this year that consisted of 7 cockerels & 2 pullets. All 7 cockerels ended up crowing. I also live on an island full of wild chickens & all the roosters I've come across have crowed.

I've heard of aggressive roosters, but I've fortunately never had to deal with an aggressive roosters. The roosters in my yard respect me and are kind to the hens and younger chickens in my yard. One of the friendliest chickens I've ever known was a rooster.

When I googled it, I read that a rooster can mate 10-30 times a day and I've been told before that you can eat a fertilized egg. If I am wrong, feel free to correct me.

Thank you for some good info. I am not sure where I heard that some don't crow. I did hear that some roosters are super friendly.

Haha, if its true that most roosters don't crow, I haven't been lucky enough to have a quiet rooster 😂

There was a wild rooster that I befriended at the park, who I named Liv that was SUPER friendly. Whenever I'd arrive at the park, he'd run up to me and greet me. He always wanted to be held and cuddled with! His personality reminded me so much of a dog!

He is super friendly so far I pick him up often and pet him often. He's always playing with the other they are so cute together. I knew something was different his legs were so much bigger than her's and the features were always just bigger compared to her's. I wonder if they do get aggressive at what age that happens. I am so bummed out
