Pullet or Cockerel?

So how was she acting that made you think cockerel? Temperament sexing is highly ineffective at this age

They all seem to get along pretty well but she was singling another one out and not letting it eat or drink. She would watch it from across their pen and as soon as the other would get near the water or food she would run over and jump on her back and hold her down by her head. I’ve never had laying chickens before. Growing up my dad had feral game chickens and I just remember the young males always starting trouble haha could they already be establishing a pecking order? I didn’t know if it was too early for that or not.

Yes, they're establishing a pecking order, it's the same thing with games, both pullets and cockerels will partake. Gender doesn't play a huge role at this age

Looks like a lady to me, too. I wouldn't worry too much about the "Mean Girl" act, though. At eight weeks, they're starting to sort out their pecking order. Once that's settled, the bullying behavior should subside.

Yes, they're establishing a pecking order, it's the same thing with games, both pullets and cockerels will partake. Gender doesn't play a huge role at this age

Thank you, I hope so. I have my hopes up for sweet hens. My husband has been calling them the viscous 6 even though it’s really only been 1 mean girl haha

It's likely she'd turn out to be your boss hen at least that's how mine started and haven't changed since then
My goodness she even goes after roosters
