Pullet or Roo?? She is now 6 months old today.

So, this is Sprite, and she is a bit mean. She attacks as if a rooster, so I am beginning to think she is a he... no eggs yet, so not any real way to say either or. I am thinking she may have killed my little silkie roo this morning, because I heard some squawking, but decided it could have been normal noise and left them alone. My husband found my roo being cuddled by the female silkies, and Sprite just walking on him. He brought Honey inside, and he died a few hours later... I am not sure what happened, but he was fine yesterday. Again, Sprite is 6 months old today, and this is not a guess, I got her when she was 2 days old and still had an egg tooth....

A description of the rooster's wounds is in order. Chickens are very unsympathetic beings and it is not at all unusual for a mother hen to walk all over her own dead or dying chicks.

THAT CHICKEN IS EVILLLLL!
Anyway.... XD Sprite looks like a pullet, I mean she's six months and that's when chickens are adults (right? XD). She doesn't have a long comb and wattle, which usually roos do at that age... BUT if she's attacking, then she might be a roo? Sometimes finding out gender is confusing XD It's happening to me with one of my chicks. But Sprite also has a big tail, she looks like a pullet. I don't know but I think I'm more sure that she's a pullet instead of a roo. :3
Yeah, she attacks us, she has tried attacking by jumping with her feet...

I agree no matter her sex she is not appropriate to be in with silkies. One of the biggest reason they don’t do well with other breeds is they don’t see well so they don’t have a chance to ward off an attack. they also don’t fly well so it’s hard for them to get away to a safe spot. I have also noticed my Silkies have never pecked each other on head only back pecking and tail pulling. Maybe in with your LF flock she will not be the biggest and that may move her down in the pecking order, in with silkies she is at the top because she has all the advantages over them which she has learned to bully. I’m not totally convinced she killed the cockerel, usually a peck on the head causes neurological symptoms first from what I’ve seen. It is possible though that she is going to lay soon and the cockerel tried mounting and she wasn’t interested in his advances and pecked him on the head.
