We have a 4 week old Bantam Blue Cochin, and I think he is a boy. Please help! We can't keep roosters in our backyard, and he is a super sweet guy, but I think he is boy because his comb is getting big fast, also I think he tried to mount one of our silkie babies. Does that mean the silkie is a girl? Is 4 weeks to early to tell? Thanks!!

Yea, maybe it was just playing? LOL it's super docile and sweet. I just hope it isn't a roo.......:(

OH MAN!!!

Thank you for confirming my suspicions. I will have to break the news to my boys :(

thats a cockerel and the barred one i see in the pic also looks like a cockerel

The Barred Cochin in the back is female. She is very broody and motherly to the babies right now. She is 3.5 weeks older than all the others. Much larger and she is alpha hen. She is a lap hen :) I am trying to find a new home for our little roo now.
