Pullet? pea comb 14 weeks

I got this girl as an EE, supposedly out of a blue egg from a legbar hybrid and dad is half Marans/half green layer, at 8 weeks. She is my first pea comb so I am completely unfamiliar with their development rate. But now at almost 14 weeks she is much redder and waddlely-er than the other girls (single combs). And that tail....?

Looks like a pullet.

Edit: I was wrong. That's a cockerel.

I'd say that's a cockerel. The red leakage on the shoulders is a male specific trait.

At 8 weeks old, with that red of a comb and that much wattle, that's a cockerel. The red on the wings also says he's a boy.

The pictures were taken yesterday, just shy of 14 weeks, but I'm afraid you're probably right regardless, thanks

Oh... In the body of your first post you said 8 weeks... Um.... can you get a good pic of the saddle area of the chicken?

might I ask why you changed your mind? Do you now see something new that makes you think cockerel, or just changing to go along with general consensus?

I originally dismissed the red in the shoulders because you said dad was part Black Copper Maran. Then I remembered that any bird with BCM heritage is going to show red in the shoulders if it is male.

The tail I honestly couldn't decide with.
