Pullet Treats

Hi, I have 4 month old pullets- what are the best treats to five them at this age before they are laying? I know they say not to give them too much protein. Can I give meal worms or no? and what about alfalfa?
Any ideas are welcomed- thank you so much!

The very best "treat" I can think of is their regular feed, wetted into a mash. It's a great way to use up the fines/bits/dust that fall to the bottom of the bowl. It won't dilute their nutrition at all, because it's their regular feed. My birds love it.
