Hi, new chicken owner here who isn't up on all the possible diseases or treatments and I'm looking for a little guidance.

1) What type of bird , age and weight. I have a Golden Lace Wyandotte, 10 weeks, weight unknown but I could weigh her if necessary

2) What is the behavior, exactly. She seems to be a little under the weather but most noticeable is she has kind of droopy, goopy eyes. The goop has small bubbles located on the bottom half of her eye. Both eyes seem to be affected but one is worse than the other.

3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms? I noticed one of her eyes seemed a bit "off" a day or two ago but just noticed the goop and bubbles today.

4) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma. None that I'm aware of but they are still working out pecking order and squabbling so there is the possibility.

5) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation. I can't pinpoint anything.

6) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all. She was pecking at the ground and eating when I went out earlier this morning. After noticing her eye I have seperated her from the others and now she's just mad at me. She was eating before so I think she's just protesting at the moment.

7) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc. Normal to slightly runny. It's mostly solid but is a little runny at the end of the process.

8) What has been the treatment you have administered so far? Nothing other than separating her because I don't have a clue what to do, if anything.

9 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet? We'd like to treat at home. Unfortunately I cannot do a large vet bill for a $2.00 chicken. We do have several co-ops nearby so we can probably access most meds available there.

10) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help. I'll try to get one and post it.

11) Describe the housing/bedding in use Dry coop with wood shavings on the floor, straw in nest boxes but she doesn't use those yet. Fenced run, not free ranged.

When we got her she was the runt and didn't want to eat. I started giving her kefir (yogurt type stuff) in her chick crumbles and she began eating with gusto, although she has remained the smallest of our birds. She has gained weight and is very spunky. Before I knew better I foolishly added an 8 month old hen I aquired from someone without doing a quarantine first so she could have picked up something from that bird. The hen doesn't exhibit any issues but I realize she could have exposed the little one to something without her being sick herself.

Thanks for any help you can give me! I love the little squirt and would like to see her healed.
