Pullet with saddle feathers?

The saddle feathers are broad and rounded, and don't look male. But the tail itself is very unusual-- those laced feathers have the appearance of being small sickle feathers that males get. But if the age is correct, then it must be a pullet, one with unusual tail feathers.
And unusual cushion feathers.

I think it's a pullet too. None of the feathers are pointy. Sometimes feathers near the tail curve like that, but so far on this bird they are all wide and rounded like a pullet. Also the bird is at an age where a reddening comb would be normal for a pullet.

I love a good mystery! She acts more like a pullet, though, and hangs around the shy girls in my yard.

Pretty pullet, undoubtedly. While her saddle plumage is long, it isn't pointed. :)

Also, coloration is exclusive to female EEs.

Yes, I thought her coloring suggested pullet. The lacing on her feathers makes it look a little pointed, though, so I got nervous.

I am glad to hear she may still be a "she"!
