I just noticed this little lady was moping around the brooder, i pick her up to find a very nasty tushy. Right now i have her soaking in warm epsom salts water which she turns and drinks as well...
What should I do to perk her back up? Her age is maybe 6-8 weeks old one of my hatched bantams.
No contact with outside flock, i sanitize before handling younger and older birds, she is fed medicated chick broiler starter and finisher. Offered Yogurt every now and then.
Cocci is not an issue never had it everyone it bright eyed and fluffytailed.

The only thing I could think of would be some electrolytes and apple cider vinegar in the water. You could rotate between the two.

Three days after finding her. Ive been doing acv and electrolytes in her water and yogurt in her feed. With no perk up. Daily soaks and shes getting thinner, i dont know what else to do. I am 99.99999% sure its not parasites as my babies dont go outside until they are big enough to fed off the flock.

Even chickens who have not been on soil or around older birds can get a coccidiosis overload. I would start her on Corid for treatment, since it is not an antibiotic, and will not harm her or the other chicks to treat. Dosage is 1 1/2 tsp of the powder, or 2 tsp of the Corid liquid per gallon of water. Give for 7 days. Medicated feed contains the same med, but too small of a dosage to treat an outbreak. Many feeds contain probiotics nowadays also. I hope she gets better soon.

Bad news. She passed away. We tried everything suggested on the sight and she was to far gone when i noticed she was sick.
Im buying corid and dewormer this week and doing a full flock treatment.
Was trying to stay all natural but with this i will make exceptions and change.
