Hi all. My oldest Barred Rock is almost 18 weeks (others are younger, I have four total, different breeds) So I think she is going to be the first to lay eggs. Is there anything I need to do to get her or the coop or the nesting boxes ready for her?

They have a routine right now, which is: out of the hen house into the run at 9 am, than out of the run to free range at 3pm, until dusk than off to bed. Sounds good right?

Their routine sounds good to me. All you need to do for the pullet(s) is make sure you have nest boxes ready for when the first eggs come. Make sure the boxes are semi-dark, private, clean and put a golf ball/fake egg or two in there to "show" them where you want them to lay.
