Pullets havent laid in a whole year!!

If you are assuming they aren't laying because you haven't gotten any white eggs, your reasoning is faulty. You won't get white eggs because they aren't Leghorns. Those hens are brown egg layers.

I just looked up Leghorns and they have bright white earlobes!! I can't believe I missed that. I can't believe that the container I get them out of at Rural King said White Leghorns.

But there are no signs that they are laying other than the fact Sunshine gets in the nesting boxes. I have never ever seen Peeps get in a laying box or even inspect them. We have also kept a light on in the coop during the night for the whole winter and the light is still on.

does anybody have any idea what ind of chickens these are? These are some of the egg colors we get.

Well I see you got your answers---that was my thought and the reason for asking if you had pics-----so many people have been raising what they were told---was this or that and find out they were told wrong!! These for sure look like they are laying. Some people feel if they are not getting 1 egg per day per hen---they feel someone is slacking---that is not usually the case. Some times all the hens are laying---just not a egg a day!! Good Luck

I didn't even remember the red ear lobes! Yes! Can't be Leghorns. If they're from a feed store they must be hatchery birds. I'd guess white Plymouth rocks, although their body type isn't right that isn't unusual for hatchery birds. They're probably laying a medium brown or lighter cream tinted egg. Unless you're in the coop from sun up to sun down, don't believe that just because you haven't seen a bird in the box she isn't laying. I spent a LOT of time with my last flock. Well after first receiving a certain, very distinctive, egg daily.. for months, I saw my buff orpington in the nest, so excited because I thought she had never laid I sat and waited for her to finish. She laid the large pinkish speckled egg I'd been getting for a long time. They can be very sneaky.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!! My Leghorn Sunshine just layed an egg. I walked down to the coop and I saw her standing over an egg and she was nudging it!! I picked it up and it was still wet! The egg is huge and dark brown! Turns out we have been getting her dark brown eggs for months!
