I have 25 week old chickens and I got 8 eggs yesterday. My chicks came from cackle hatchery and are red-sex links, black australorps and white rocks. It is a pleasure to see them start to lay.

Out of curiosity, how many pullets do you have total? I also got mine from Cackle, I'm getting 7 or 8 eggs every day, and they are about the same age as yours. You can see my breeds in my signature, although the Sussex are not laying yet. I started out with 23 pullets but am down to 15 total as I am eating the ones that are not laying, trying to get down to my eventual laying-breeding flock. I guess you could say 1/3 of mine are laying, due to the selective culling.

I have 25 pullets I bought the brown egg layer special for 44 dollars. I think the sunshine we have had this week has been the reason they started laying. I am in northwest arkansas also. Green Forest area.
