Hi everyone..We just brought home a new flock yesterday (RSL Pullets) and they are laying eggs everywhere! On the floor, in the run, under the straw, just everywhere. I even stepped on a couple that were buried in the house! I put golf balls in their nests and hopefully that will help, but is this just cause they are just starting to lay? Will they get regulated to the nest boxes sometime soon? I have another more established flock in another coop but I never had this happen before. The girls just knew what to do and did it. Thanks for any help or suggestions you can offer. :)

It takes times. They usually figure it out as they settle in and mature. Try having a couple of laying boxes set virtually on the coop floor, as this makes things obvious to them and works with the layer's natural instinct for being a ground nest builder. You can also keep them cooped until mid afternoon, as most will have laid. They'll get it. Best wishes.
