I wish I had pictures of it, but I had a rooster that let teenagers huddle under his wings at night. He was a GREAT rooster and tidbitted the babies and the hens. I wish I still had him.
We need our roosters! We can't get people to stop making noise with vehicles... But neighbors can put a stop to our roosters songs...sigh!

My silkie pullet will let pretty well anyone sit under her lol. She has 2 chicks here, only the one visible, the other is under the other wing, and the little cuckoo silkie decided to get in there too and tucked herself up under the older girl’s butt fluff. The 3 also accompanied the silkie to the nesting box and piled in on top of her when she went to lay an egg. :p i don’t have the Easter egger that’s under her wing anymore, but while she was still here she was still tucking herself under there even though she was almost twice the size of mama. Love that silkie!

My EE still puts her head under my arm like she did as a chick. She's 15 weeks now!
I love the white EEs, the two EEs in my picture I posted in the nest box, are aspen, the grey and gold, and Alpine, the dark body with a gold neck and blackhead!

So sorry to hear that, my heart goes out to you!
I have been there, after I lost my beloved Austrolorp rooster, Licorice, I didn't really bond with another deeply, until I got my bantam boy! He is my baby!
