I'm completely new to having chickens. My aunt gave me 4 pullets who are about 3 months old and helped me get set up with the right food and all. We have a small protected run and a coop where they can roost but, if I'm not home at 8:30 to encourage them into the coop, they end up on the roof instead. It's enclosed, so fortunately they're safe until I get home, but I'm wondering if the draft is too much outside. I'm hoping they get used to where to go but in the meantime I'm trying to figure out what to do with them if I am gone for the evening. It isn't ideal to get on a ladder each night to scoop them up and place them on their roost! Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
