I bought these three EE’s from our local feed store. They are a little over 3 months old and I was told they were pullets. What do y’all think?

The way the two have splotchy red on their wings is very male-specific with chickens

The middle one has a very large and vibrant comb for a bird that's only 3 months old, which is why it leans "cockerel".

Perhaps the signs at the store got mixed up
They're very pretty.
Sorry if you can't have cockerels. If you can, you have a few to choose from for your flock.

Sorry about your luck. The feed store *may* not have known...but it should have been pretty obvious to anyone who's had Easter Eggers before. If they were selling chicks, I'd say no way to know.... but these? Cmon. Haha

Thank you! I was holding out hope but I had a pretty strong suspicion they were cockerels. I can have roosters so we’ll see what happens. I hate the idea of rehoming any of my chickens. lol

I got them when they were a few days old. They told me pullets but there’s always a slight chance you’ll get a rooster. Well I was 3 for 3!!! 🤣 Also, I’m brand new to chickens so I’m just learning all I can. Thanks for the help!

Ohhhh ok then yes, that can happen. Definitely some bad luck if you're new. Hopefully you can get some egg layers!

Be glad you didn't get 16 . . . I got 10 males and 6 pullets . . . I managed to rehome a few with people close by and they give me updates on occasion. It can be away to make local connections with like minded people. I had no idea how many people near me keep/raise chickens.

Sometimes not all birds work out. It can be really hard to make a choice of what to do. Some just don't get along, or there's just not enough space (some just need more space than others).

There's a SLIM chance one might become human aggressive. I'd suggest having a plan in mind in case that happens, even if it's decades from now. Or even if it never happens.

Not to scare you. It may never happen at all.
I've been around hundreds of chickens, dozens of roosters, and only 1 became human aggressive.
Some people wanted to "visit" my mom's farm, and they let their kids harass the birds. After that day, the rooster felt he had to chase away children to keep the flock safe.
He didn't attack anybody, but he was gone within days of that behavior shift. Can't have an aggressive bird of any kind.
He probably became a meal. Or perhaps he became plant fertilizer.
