Pulling another rescue tomorrow

Kudos to you KD! We foster rescues also, typically taking the older dogs from high kill shelters, as well as special needs dogs....as long as they aren't too young (my dogs don't appreciate the exuberance of a puppy anymore). Some people just don't get it when they take their dog to a high kill shelters; and owner surrenders have less time than strays b/c they don't have to go through the behavioral/medical wait before being put up for adoption.
She looks happy to be rescued, sweet girl. Hopefully she was house trained, even though any dog can regress the first week or two in a new placement.
Thank you so much for caring! Dogs are the best!

What's weird..... every rescue I bring in has to be thoroughly inspected by my gang... THOROUGHLY.... Usually an hour long affair. Caddie was sniffed, her pee was sniffed and that was it, they gave her a wide berth....... Which can only mean she's sick. I'm suspecting UTI at the very least, she's only had to tinkle about 30 times since we got here and she act's like it burns every time. Starting meds tonight

It's really bad out this way, most kill shelters are taking OS straight back to euthanasia. Not even letting them have the chance to be adopted, they are just too full. Which is why I'm really surprised about her being held for 4 days.

We take the seniors too, used to take everything but I closed down the rescue due to lack of funds earlier in the year and just pull the old ones now when I have room. Only if I have room.

So this makes 7 total dogs, 1 dane mix and 6 bassets. Hopefully, pending a phone call here this evening, we will be short 2 bassets by next weekend. We got a very serious inquiry on the blind girl and the tank.....

She was a "beloved basset"? Yeah right. Poor gal looks rather worn, but she's got a great smile

And she's huge. Thank you for rescuing her! I have a place in my heart for the senior dogs; when all the kids are older, I really want to adopt all the seniors I can out of the shelters. They deserve some golden years.

100% of my rescues are 'beloved pets'

Lets just not even attempt to go there, I get too ticked off

Good news on the other 2, 98% chance they will be going to a permanent home in a week!!! THANK GOD! they've been here 16 months.

No she didn't.
But she's healthier than every other rescue I've taken since we've been pulling them and the woman had her fully vetted before dropping her off.
I have the receipts for proof and I'm going to be calling that vet tomorrow to see if I can get her full vet profile/records because her current weight is 16 pounds higher than her last vet visit on the receipt.

Awww she's cute.... looks like she has an argyle sweater on or something with those markings! Kudos to you for taking her in and getting placement on those other two!
