I just got back from the vet (who wasn't all that helpful) but at least pointed me in a different direction and checked for cocci. As it turns out my chicks are recovering from the cocci-most likley since I've been treating them with corid.
But he did mention that he heard some rumbling in the chest indicating a respiratory issue. I was concerned that it was Coryza, but he assures me that it is something only older (4 + months get). I'm not too sure if I believe him considering some of the posts I've seen before- any info. would be great if you have it.
He told me to get tetracycline and begin treating right away- switching immidiatley (he said time may be of the essence and that we should just try something new before they all die)
I'm going to search for info on this new drug...(amounts in quarts would be nice) if anyone can post the link to infections that humans can get- that would be a great help. Through all this, I'm beginning to feel like a hypochondriac and may be coming down with something!
Thanks for all the input and help with the me, the chicky newbie!
