Interesting on how they started. I saw somewhere that some say origins back in the 1700's.

Yes the color and we live in a very cold area. We have a BA Roo and his comb is pretty sorry looking. Still thinking about it.

Gamecocks just don't look right unless they are dubbed, IMHO. It's not that hard to do but if I didn't care or just didn't want to do it I wouldn't worry about it. My dad used to hold them for me while I dubbed them and since he couldn't take the sight of blood he would just stare off into the distance. : )

I'll probably end up doing it. I am sure it will go ok with all the videos, tips and research I have done and will do. Have to show some pics of the chicks once they hatch.
