Pumpkin Hulsey

Gamecocks just don't look right unless they are dubbed, IMHO. It's not that hard to do but if I didn't care or just didn't want to do it I wouldn't worry about it. My dad used to hold them for me while I dubbed them and since he couldn't take the sight of blood he would just stare off into the distance. : )

It is a great article, there is also some about them on the net, but the game fowl was a very informative article!!

I will have hatching eggs available, from my pure hulseys, i also have 3/4 pumpkin 1/4 MCrae hatching eggs that will be available.

Wishing someone near me was willing to show me how dub properly.

The few times I've done it, and I do it by myself, I wrap the roo in a towel tight to restrain his wings and I usually put some twine around the legs becuase you want to restrain them as much as possible to keep them from making the scissors slip and cutting their heads. Also flour can be useful to help stop bleeding, though they usually dont bleed much, I usually just run a small stream of cold water from the hose of it after I do it .

I'll probably end up doing it. I am sure it will go ok with all the videos, tips and research I have done and will do. Have to show some pics of the chicks once they hatch.

***March 12*** The big day!
