I looked over the treat chart & pumpkin flesh & seeds are ok. I peeled my cooked pumpkin and have all this peel with bits of flesh left over. Is it safe to give my 22 wk chickens this?

Also they love bananas, how much is too much of all these treats.

Please have patience with us newbies.

I buy left over pumpkins this time of year, chop them up with an ax, and give them to the chickens out in their run.

They eat everything BUT the peeling.

Chickens love pumpkin, I've read that pumpkin and seeds are a natural worm preventer, don't know if that's true or not, but one thing is, it makes the egg yokes a lovely dark color.

Ours like the pumpkin cut up into bite (or beak) sized bits.. They don't mess with the peel either. They are rotten birds! They love bananas too! I treat mine with fresh fruit (with the exception of citrus) daily. Some people do it less often. Mine seem to do fine though. Have you tried watermelon yet? They can put away watermelon! I would think the fresh fruits & veggies would be good for them. I have a hard time getting them to eat veggies. They'll eat corn fresh. They'll eat veggie soup though! They're worse than my kids!

Last week I read a post here that said something to the extent that the pumpkin seeds can impact their crops. I've not allowed mine the seeds. I would if I was certain it would'nt harm them..
