Puncture wound/skin tear healing(hopefully!!) with use of honey

6 yo Lacey, SS hen, had mishap(?) with stick stuck in crop and skin tear close to 1st wound and I applied major amount of honey because that was all I had and it appears to be healing. Shes remained sassy thru all and that was my main concern. Vet hospital I worked at used sugar for major soft tissue wounds and it was impressive how well it worked. Hope she continues for a few more days.Didn't hurt that it was 60 and sunny today.

I will assume it helped because the wounds were so nasty. She ran with the flock today while I finally got to muck their shed and she seemed very happy.Was terrified to look but was shocked at healing. BTW only counted 26 chix tonight(should be 27) and noticed excess red feathers this a.m. so stepping up nightime checks. ARGH. Anyhoo-I think I like the honey help.
