Count your blessings that DH didn't catch it; that wouldn't have been the smartest thing he's ever done, and couldn't have ended well.

Well he didn’t really mean too, he just ran out the door and the hawk was just that close by the patio door. What, incidentally, does DH stand for?

Sometimes out instincts over ride our judgement when something like that is happening. I imagine many of us would have done the same.

He is a Dear Husband! He went right out the next day and bought stuff to make a covered in closure. The duck babies love it! Now they have to be in it unless I’m in the yard , but often they hang out in it when the door is open. Quackers is back to herself and I feel better knowing I can go to work and they’re safe.
