Puppy with ducks.

View attachment 1421435 Our puppy, Brees (Breeze), came home with us today. He immediately took over the duck’s smallest pool. The ducks watched him from a distance, wearily. Finally, they, sort of, met.

Not actually a puppy, far from it in fact, but here's Dusty, our 14 year old blind deaf Shih-tzu we just adopted. She can't see the ducks, and they were not scared of her, but definitely not curious. They just walked off!

They look like horns coming out of her head on this one!

My five Khaki Campbell ducks were raised around dogs. We had a wonderful, old Golden Retriever who was incredibly patient with them. We also dog-sat my parents English lab several times from puppyhood to adulthood. Our Golden passed away in September and we are getting a new Golden puppy in four weeks (he will be eight weeks old then). We rarely let my parents puppy near the ducks and when we finally did the ducks chased her and scared her half to death. I do not want this puppy terrified of them but I am hoping we get off to a "leave the ducks alone" start. I was wondering if anyone has gone through this and has puppy-duck advice.
