So we purchased two new ladies, one is a year old, the other one 2. We were pretty assured they were good layers, so we added them to our flock of 7. It took everyone a while to get sorted out the pecking order (seriously a WHILE, there was not a tentative peace until about late September) however the two new ladies, still have not yet laid a single egg. Is there anything we can do to encourage them more? We've added to our flock before and the ladies ended up finally coming to peace with one another and started laying but these two ladies are just not wanting to budge.
Got them in early August and now we're onto November. Suggestions?

After all the stress of adjusting to a new home and new flock mates, your new hens are now bucking the short days. I suggest you give up expecting eggs until January when they will have settled in more firmly and the days will be getting longer.
Thanks!! Good to know!!
