Pure Bred or Imposter (Mutt)- Lavender Blue Araucans!!!

i believe Ive found my match, they seem to match up with the Australian standard here its is-

Based on the Australian photos, looks like you do have purebred Australian Araucanas. Woot!

i know, I'm so Happy, was quite annoyed the other day but now excited, all i need now is a rooster of the same breed and ill have quite an exciting project ahead, just one problem its going to be very hard to find, so now the adventure begins.

The funny comb is called a "pea comb" and they look like silkied ameraucanas if they aren't crossed.


But it looks like they are by Australia's standards.

The silkied gene is resessive, they look purebred to me, just with silkied feathers. The silkied ameraucanas that popped up over here came from a long line of purebreds, they just happened to get the right mix. I hav a featherlegged cayuga drake, its the first one the breeder knows of.

If you cross them to a normal feathered rooster, the chicks will look normal, but carry the silkied gene. Its like crossing black and lavendar.
