We put out a Purina Flock Block last week for our 16 week and 8 week pullets, along with their normal DuMor starter/grower feed & grit on the side. Didn't realize this is a supplemental food source that contains oyster shell and git until just a few minutes ago. Now I'm wondering if this was/is a good idea to leave this block in the run all the time, thoughts?

They shouldn't have it all the time regardless of age, as it is a treat. The calcium isn't alarmingly high though I wouldn't want young birds to have it, but the protein is quite low so if they're eating a lot of this instead of their feed, they're protein intake could be affected.

The only time I put out flock blocks are when the chickens are more or less stuck in the coop due to snow or flooding, that sort of thing.
