Purina Flock Raiser?

I emailed the Purina "Ask an expert" a question but never received a reply, just a confirmation. They also sent me an email with "It's time for your first egg happy dance! Here's a coupon!. But the link to the $4 dollar coupon wasn't included and the links to the egg recipes that were in the email didn't work. I never got a reply from them about the links. To me it's no big deal and I really don't care about the emails, but needless to say I'm not real impressed with there customer service.

I'm a bit confused, I just picked up 2 bags of Purina Flock Raiser, from TSC, when I emptied them into my storage bin, they were different colors, one greyish, the other beige. What's up? It shouldn't matter which plant manufactured it, if using the same ingredients/formula, right? Actually looks like the layer/raiser blend, I did previously.

take it back go to another feed store

I had the same problem a few months back,(with Dumor feed, produced by Purina) the same time @FlyWheel did. I took the light colored feed back and got a different mill date because they would not eat it. The different date code was dark feed and they ate it. I emailed Purina last Sunday about mill dates and how long they thought it would be ok to feed out(just to see what they would say) and haven't heard anything back, poor customer service! I took an unopened bag back to TSC today and I am now buying Bartlett Milling Feed.

Like blackdog043 I too am lucky enough to be able to buy Bartlett chicken feed. I consider it a superior feed. They actually have layer pellets thats 20% protein but I am now using only their starter grower feed as I hope for some babies this spring and want to keep it simple by feeding them all the same thing. It too is 20% protein.

Read the ingredients. I bet the ingredients are different.
I have tags from the same layer feed,(not Purina). One manufacture date:03OCT17. The other 11DEC17. The ingredients listed are different. The first five are in exactly the same order. After that they are different and the December tag has Dried Kelp. The October tag does not. They were manufactured at the (AL) plant. I believe that stands for Albany, NY. GC
I'll check again, yesterday I just did a quick look, stopped after the first few ingredients were the same.

I used Bartlett 20% pellets from the local stock yard for years up until about 6months ago or so it used to be a very clean feed it became very dusty with every bag of feed I used. I have now been feeding southern states specialty flock booster 20% and my gamefowl thrive on it, I couldn't ask for a better feed very clean good feed.
