So, please check your bags before you buy and blindly feed your birds medications.
Also, before arguing with someone else, make sure you check your sources first.

ETA: I'm going to say that probably not ALL bags are medicated. But, please check your bags to make sure your's is not.

Thank you for the information and the label image. I knew I wasn't crazy. I remember very vividly having medicated Startena for my guineas a few years ago, though mine contained Amprolium. Could be they have just changed it to bacitracin in recent times. When I emailed the company, the woman said only that they no longer had the game bird startena with meds that I bought back in 1997, but apparently, she doesn't know her own products that well and wan't willing to check it out for me. Anyway, good to know.

They probably just switched it all over to the Bactrinwhatever. It's probably cheaper than the Amprolium. But, I never thought that you were crazy! Lol.

Optic, unfortunately, some people are leading others to believe that none of it is medicated. At one point in time, I believed the same thing, and would have blindly listened and possibly killed my birds because of it. The bag has 10 times the amount recommended for quail! Anyways, I just wanted to make sure that everyone was well aware that some bags ARE medicated, and to check the bags before buying. Heck, check your tags if you already have some.

This is pheasant feed who have a different susceptibility to cocci than quail.

But it is game bird startena.

Well I scanned in my label as the photo i posted before wasn't too clear. Seems not all red labels are medicated either, that would be too easy. This is definitely a different product to Bettacreeks. The SKU and the product number are different too. Really got to look closely at what you got.

Honestly, I wonder if we couldn't all start contacting Purina and just ask them to make the tags easier. They need to make it more obvious ie, red tag = medicated, black tag = non-medicated or something similar. Anything to make it easier. If their bags are all identical, then the least they could do is make the tags color-coded.

Exactly.... all of mine are the same as this. Medicated cannot be found anywhere down here, and isnt even listed as an option on Purinas web site. Which is why( I beleive) this was a sore subject in the previous string that got pulled.
