purple comb and wattles found on dead hen

That can happen just as a result of death. I wouldn't place much reliance on it to tell you what happened.

FWIW if they had been purpleish or bluish before death, that would be from impaired circulation such as heart problems, systemic infection, etc (or I suppose snakebite but that sounds really unlikely here).

I just found one of my meat chickens dead and it had purplish skin on the body and comb this afternoon. It was not discolored when we did morning care. Would you be concerned for the other chickens?

How old is the meat bird? Have you looked inside to see if you can find anything off with it?

I didn't open it. It's a Cornish Cross and we are set tot process on the May 20th when they will be just over 8 weeks old at that time

Purple comb is typically for dead birds. Sorry for your loss.

This is our second year with broilers so I have very little experience
