Hello all,
I got a Serma hen to add to my flock of other bantams about a month ago and her comb has turned purple-ish on one part. She can FLY and seems to do it a lot without being provocated in the slightest. Because of this I wanted/need to clip one of her wings, however, she decided to start molting and she has all new baby flight feathers right now. I have to wait so she is in the covered run part of the chicken coop(the others free roam). The chicken coop is very large so I didn’t see this as an issue. I hang out with everyday for at-least 30mins and she has gotten a lot more comfortable around me and likes the treats I give her.But her comb has started turning purple on one section over the past couple of weeks. She is molting so could that have something to do with it? There is a lot of airflow and draft free areas in the coop so I don’t think it’s due to an lack of oxogen? Before she was living in a seperate shelter to quarantine(had airflow too) but I recently moved her into the coop and she had been sleeping in a medium pet carrier at night that’s inside the coop box. Could be lacking in airflow? Could it be water? She does drink a reasonable amount but I could add electrolytes as I am brooding some babies and already mix up electrolytes for them. Would this be good? What else could be cause and what should I try?

Here’s a pic. She is one year old btw. I feed her crumble layer, scratch, chomped up bits of baby spring mix or some grasses(no fertilizer in our yard, the grass is St. Augustine and she really likes it) and a couple leaves of horseherb(edible, other hens eat it too and she likes it as well), plus the occasional dried mealworm. Sorry for so much info, I just want you guys to know any potential causes.

I just really cannot attach a pic right can I?!?!🤦‍♀️
