purple comb

Last night I shot one of my hens because she seemed unstable and her comb was a purple color not red like it should be. She was an older chicken (6yrs). Any ideas on what could have been wrong with her? I thought she was having heart and circulation issues.

Sorry about your hen. It does sound like a circulation problem. Six years is actually getting up there in age for a chicken.
