purple eggs?

We get that color eggs but unknown from which hen. We were getting them before we had Welsummers or Australorps. I'll try to figure it out.

One of my golden Comets lays an egg like that occasionally. I never tried wetting it to see if it turns brown.

Maybe it is some sort of optical thing, similar to what determines the color of feathers. Wet them and they look different.

I have gotten a 1/2 purple one 2x from one if my rir. have.t seen one in a few months though
