Purple spots on foot ? Bruising ?

Looks like bumble to me or did she step in tar? I'll get you the expert here this afternoon @Miss Lydia!

I know she will tell you to soak it in epsom salt and warm water for as long as you can. So that is something you can start right now. Don't let her drink the water because it acts as a laxative and that will be another mess!

Thanks for your reply . I went out to bathe the foot and it was mud , honestly you couldn’t make it up , so the feet are just bruised . I spoke to the vet who said it is a form of bruising and I’ve got an appointment in the morning to discuss possible causes so that’ll be an adventure with him in the car ! Vet said not to bathe as there’s no infection , just bruises . Honestly I love the ducks like they are my own children because I hatched them and delivered them in an emergency during the early hours with step by step instructions from all you beautiful Backyard people ! So I’ll keep you posted as it’s a complete mystery how it’s gotten worse and spread to both webs now ! I wonder if he’s stood in nettles as I found some under the hedge where they forage !

Oh, I'm glad you didn't listen to me but I honestly thought what I told you would be safe! I sure hope the vet can figure this out!

Well , the Vet couldn’t shed any light on the situation . She said he’s really healthy and it’s not Bumblefoot , his feet are smooth and in good condition apart from the bruises which she said are little burst blood vessels . She said she wondered about lead in the soil as we live in an old lead mining area but ruled that out when she saw the garden is all grass , asked if he’d been stood on , he hasn’t , I mentioned a cluster of nettles under the hedge and she said she wouldn’t rule it out as she was stumped . I sent her photos yesterday and she said she’d done some research but couldn’t find anything on line so said to just keep an eye on it as it doesn’t seem to be particularly bothering him . So nothing solved but at least I have peace of mind that he’s not ill in any way , but actually, ‘A lovely looking duck ! But I knew that already
