"Purring" Silkie?

This is Kung Pao making this noise. She is 6 weeks old now, and I'm awfully curious about this. Is it bad?

Yep, that's trilling! Totally normal. It's a comfort sound; it means your babies are happy! You will often hear it when chicks are nestling down for sleep. The adults purr, too!

Out of all the things that I love about chickens and I love a lot of things about them my favorite is this sound. When I lock everyone up for the night and I sit and listen to their settling sounds ,it's so relaxing and that little snore type cheap they make when they are sleeping .
