This is our Australorp hen Percy. One day I noticed these pustules on her face, and I do not exactly know how they came to be there. She behaves in a perfectly normal manner, she has been eating enough, there are no signs of trauma or other damage to her, her poop has been normal, and all in all she has been a vigorous and healthy chicken. These photos were taken 5 days ago, on the 8th of November. Around this time, our chickens were stressed out, and a couple of incidents happened which I think are worth mentioning. On the 4th of November, we had to go somewhere to deal with a personal matter, and we did not come back to the house soon enough. By the time we got back it was already dark, and the chickens were in their run and they were pacing a lot, and were very stressed. We did our best then put them to bed so they could calm down. On a weekend either right before or after this, someone began to mow their lawn (we live in a suburb and have our chickens in a run in the backyard), and by the time we noticed, they had already began to panic. We came out quickly to let them out, an just before we could they jumped against the wire of the run.

Sometime before the 4th of november, maybe a couple of days before, there was another incident. One of our hens, Mary, jumped on top of the coop. The three hens we have, Percy, Bertha, and Mary, were stressed and pecking each other a bit. Mary got out of the coop and jumped on top, while the other two were clambering around inside. We found out that the problem was that the coop was too open, and the hens felt too exposed. When we closed up the coop the hens quieted down and went to bed.

These photos are of Percy from today.

Sometime around when the lawnmower incident happened, maybe last week, we noticed small cuts on the hens wattles, specifically Percy and Bertha.

It looks like fowl pox scabs. Do you have mosquitoes out now? There is no treatment for fowl pox, but it goes away in about a month. Some will paint the scabs with Betadine (povidone iodine) to help dry them out.

we have plenty of mosquitos, but i don't think they caused it. the chickens were pecking each other because of stress immediatley before she got these pustules.
