What kind of grains will put weight on? I feed a good layer crumble but they still seem like they could use some more weight so I what to add some other grains. What ones or combo of grains would work good for this?

Try treats. Scrambled eggs, fresh fish, yogurt, fruit (non critus) hamburger, etc... That ought to fatten em' up!

Cracked corn, cracked corn, and cracked corn... they will gain weight if fed this. I feed it to them during the spring, summer, and early fall as a treat. During the late fall and winter I add a large amount to their crumbles as it helps them put on weight and produce heat for colder weather. It's affordable too. $5.50 for a 40lb bag around here.

I also feed catfood sometimes as a treat. It's high in protein, but im not sure it increases their weight.
