OMG, he's (or she's) so cute!!! I never understood why anyone would want bantams -- why have little eggs when you can have big ones?? But I tell ya, that picture just might make me a convert

And what a beautiful mama!

How are the rest doing? WE WANT MORE PICTURES!!!!
Congrats, Farmer Boy!

And why bantams? You can keep more in a smaller space, they are cute... easy to train for showing...did I say CUTE???

I have four Modern Game Bantams (a cockerel and three pullets) and my Seramas...can't get any smaller than those :D I don't mind not having eggs at all really. I'm more interested in showing them and enjoying them. Plus breeding the Seramas is going to be so much fun!

Oh man! And here I sit with my eight little mutts... I LOVE the Coronation Sussex -- or at least I love pictures of them! And the Wheaten marans... Dang, you guys are hatching out all my fantasy birds!!!
Well all my other hatches up until now have been my EE mutts or my Salmon or Splash Faverolles. Thats why this humidity thing is driving me crazy, I really want these little buggers. I have been wanting them for a long time and finally ordered them.

Dandydoodle, for what it's worth I thought long and hard about the whole humidity thing and it occurred to me that in the natural state, humidity varies widely and ya know what? Those durn eggs still hatch! All the way from Georgia to Arizona... So I'm hopeful for ya!
Hope you are right.

You guys actually have me over on the breeds page, checking out bantams :) I'm not at the point yet where I can have a ton of birds -- in fact, once I've got all my newbies I'm going to have to thin my aging herd somewhat -- but when I do have a chance to have a few birds/breeds just for fun, I think I'll have to try a banty!

Aschenfire, that's very cool on the showing! I suspect eventually I may get into "real" breeding just because the whole thing fascinates me, so showing might be in my future someday, too! Not right now -- right now I'm just aiming for chickens who give me more than four eggs a week. During peak production, too

Considering some of these girls are definitely on the old side, though, they do pretty well!
