What the title says!

I would love 8-12 Welsummer hatching eggs , and 6-8 FBCM hatching eggs, with strong preference for breeders with NPIP certified facilities, and who can show me pictures of adult birds and eggs, and some information on bloodlines. I am trying to set for the first part in April.

Thank you for any leads!

I recommend that you try contacting @bwalden

He has quality Welsummers and FBCMs. I was very pleased with the hatching eggs that he sent me. Unfortunately he was last seen on BYC Aug. 26, 2018. You can try sending him a PM (now known as a conversation)

Already contacted him. I am sorry to say, this past winter he sold his breeding stock, and had no eggs to offer. It seems that Welsummers are becoming a highly endangered breed within the US.

You might try Meyer Hatchery. They have Welsummers in both standard and bantam sizes. I ordered Speckled Sussex from them a couple of years ago, and received healthy, lively birds.

Sad about Brian. I got an excellent Welsummer pullet out of his eggs last year, and was looking to get some more. I was disappointed when I heard from him that he was out of the game.

Still no luck from anyone on here?

Alchemist Farm is NPIP, ships eggs and chicks, and has Welsummers and BCMs.

I checked them out. They are in my pool for consideration, along with Deer Run Farm. I have also joined the Welsummer Club of North America in order to hopefully identify other breeders of this bird. My preference is still to give money first to a BYC person, as doing business in the community is a good thing.

Four of the birds I have are from Meyers. They are what infected me with the Welsummer bug!

No luck from anyone here, sadly. I was equally disappointed to discover I had the immaculate timing of contacting Brian only after he had gotten rid of his birds. My preference is to do business in this community... I will go elseware eventually if needs be, and my search for eggs has turned into a fascinating, but sad breed investigation if nothing else.

I did end up ordering some from Meyer -- they're pretty backlogged on the Welsummers in a way they aren't for the other eggs they sell. It's too bad we're on opposite coasts, or I'd give you the two extra I ordered to avoid the $7.00 "your order is too small, idiot" charge.

Hi,
I showed at the Tulsa State Fair in 2018, and there were beautiful Welsummers there, including one on Champion Row! I did not get any contact information for the gentleman, but talked to him for a while. (My birds are Crevecoeurs, also Continentals).

Unfortunately, the Tulsa State Fair Results page at https://www.tulsastatefair.com/p/getconnected/livestock-and-horse-shows/441 doesn't have his name, either. Nor mine, nor several of the other competitors that I saw there. When I contacted TSF, Abby Hendrickson, their Agribusiness Exhibits Coordinator, contacted me to say that they won't make the same mistake next year, which is not very helpful.

If you check the state fair results right after the fairs (October is a good time for most of them), you can usually find their online show report. That's a good way to look for show-quality birds.

I just looked, and Indiana State Fair has its unofficial results from 2018. Wyatt Burnside of Monticello, Indiana had a Welsummer hen place first in the Continental Class. Wayne also won in the 4-H category, so he may not be a breeder (though some kids are), but may be able to recommend one.

Hi, just heard from Abby Hendrickson at the Tulsa State Fair. She had them post the actual results--thank you, Abby! Lyndon Irwin in Bois D'Arc, Missouri, had the first place and champion row Welsummers. You might want to try contacting him for hatching eggs. His birds were beautiful!
