That's pretty clever. I'm thinking a bigger opening would be better for the rooster though...Here's a link which shows how the lid fits in before the cap:

Question...do you stuff anything in the very bottom of the pipe (below the 45)? Does the feed that ends up at the bottom just rot there?
Yes, I'd cap the bottom. It's the space between that cap and where opening of the 45 begins that I'm wondering if filled with concrete it would eliminate feed lingering in that bottom section. The mason jar cap is a clever idea unless I go with a larger pipe...You can buy PVC caps at almost any hardware store or online. Just do a quick Google search for PVC Cap and the size you need (ex. 3 inch)
Impotence causes old age, folks. Stay virile and you'll never age.Seriously ? At what age ?
Except the 4 to 6 is not the way we want it...the 45* leg will be 4 and main pipe will be 6I'm thinking maybe having a 4" to 6" adapter to allow for extra head room. I don't need a 6" pipe...but that 6" opening would be nice...
plus pricey!!Question...do you stuff anything in the very bottom of the pipe (below the 45)? Does the feed that ends up at the bottom just rot there?
Wouldn't the 6" 45* be better for easier entry for rooster?Except the 4 to 6 is not the way we want it...the 45* leg will be 4 and main pipe will be 6plus pricey!!
6x6x6 45* wye would work....if you can find one and the price is right for you.Wouldn't the 6" 45* be better for easier entry for rooster?
Eh...ex's family are plumbing/heating contractors...and the dad loves me so I'll chat with him for stuff. Lol
I'll have to spook his stash to see what he has. I didn't want a 6" pipe though... I'll have to ponder this more...6x6x6 45* wye would work....if you can find one and the price is right for you.
Not standard residential plumbing part, but maybe in the industrial world.
Good news he has a triple 6 wye! I'm in!I'll have to spook his stash to see what he has. I didn't want a 6" pipe though... I'll have to ponder this more...
