pvc panels - clear vs. solar grey?

If whole run is to be covered, I would go with green translucent. If part only, I would go with sheet metal. For skylight in coop, I would go with white, not clear. In that case, (skylight for coop) I would use a nail-down plastic bubble type, two surfaces to avoid it sweating. Use flashing all around and caulk into place using Sonneborne N P 1 sonolastic caulk. I would also make a place to put an interior panel to block most light in summer for keeping heat down.

I also have the metal corrugated for my roof. It covers the run and coop. It does keep it cooler. It creates shade without letting heat in. I also had the snow consideration up here (Green Bay, WI) So I went with the metal corrugated for the strength as well. I think I paid $40.00 for it from a roofing place, Home Depot did not carry it. That was a special order cut to size too, so I am sure you can find it cheaper at a place that stocks it. My roof was 3' x 8' on each side.

This is my first winter with it but my Dad has had that roofing on the outhouse and pumphouse at our cottage for YEARS and it holds up awesome and can handle at least a foot of snow or more on it all winter. I looked at the PVC stuff but it seemed weak for my climate. Hope it helps.

What would make for less heat (protect against heat): solar grey or white?
