Pvc pipe waterer

Monk, I left that pipe long thinking I would tie it into the rain gutter (that is not installed yet)on the tin roof and adjust the end cap so not to get overflow into the run making mud. so if everything goes to plan water will flow off the roof into the pipe waterer and excess will flow over the hole in the end cap out to the woods.

Okay that sounds really cool. You cut a hole in the end cap that will allow drainage of water over the lowest point of the holes the chix drink from....do I understand this correctly?

I will be interested to hear if it works. Seems like it is easier for the water to overflow the many side holes than the single end hole...fluid mechanics is not my strong suit though...

Please let us know when you hook it up to the gutter & if it works.

I don't know if it will work like I am thinking but if you don't try you will never know. And if it doesn't I can use the pvc for a feeder. And look for another Idea on here, There are so many.

I can see it working as long as the hole for the overflow is much larger than your drinking holes..

good idea, now if we can just get it to rain every night,,,just a little..

I was thinking about trying a toilet tank or simular tank to collect rain water from the roof gutters, then just flush as needed???
