Ive been at making a pvc run/pen and almost finished when I read that poultry netting collects snow and it will ruin the netting and such. I thought I had done enough research prior but obviously not. Hawks are around here. Any suggestions ? its 10f long x 10ft wide x 6ft high.

I'd recommend 2x4 welded wire for the top, and probably the sides also, with 1/2 inch hardware cloth around the bottom for predator control. The welded wire is sturdy enough to handle some ice buildup, a much more dangerous condition than just wet snow.

Thanks, will the. 2x4 wire keep the hawks out ?

Yes, better than netting because they can't possibly tear through it. I assume they will not roost in the run, so I think the welded wire top is the best.

They will have a coop with a small run/w/hardwarecloth inside this pen , its just for daytime use . its lightwieght so i figured i could move it around if need be.

I was more worried about them squeezing through it , lol, if 2x4 keeps the snow-a-flowing ,and the hawks-a-flying, then im all about that.

I do want to be clear it shouldn't be used on the sides of a coop without something stronger. I have it on the top by itself, the sides of my run are chainlink fence
