PVC watering system

We are about to build a PVC waterer with nipples. I went to the How-to section and the section on waterers/feeders has no content. I have been doing a search for the last hour and not finding good instructions on putting that together. Husband wants to know how you put rubber washers and nuts inside the pipe. We bought 6 screw type nipples.

Can I bother some of you to post pictures/parts lists for your systems? Thanks!!

I have several coops equipped with nipple waterers and they work very well and are easy to install. You merely drill a hole of the specified size in the PVC pipe. The nipple comes with the rubber grommet installed and you just push it into the pipe.

If you drill the correct size hole you should be able to just screw the nipples in and not have any problems. I didn't get the hole size right so I had to use some epoxy putty (blue wal-mart stuff, same as green "mighty putty" infomercial) and just put a small amount around each nipple to keep them from leaking. Check out the pic below and hopefully you'll see what I'm talking about.

edit: I did the same thing with the metal ring screws for hanging, just put it on the inside so you can't see the putty in the pic, on others I have it on the outside. I have lots of pvc waterers and feeders and sorry only have 1 pic to show you, but you'll be glad you made one.

Search poultry nipple waterers on eBay. There's a guy on there with the best videos and most detail I have ever seen.

Wish I could remember which seller, but he has tons of supplies and teaches how to use each item.

I wanted to do the same thing. You can skip the faucet part or get the fitting to go from faucet to hose to PVC pipe. That is how mine will go

I wanted to do the same thing. You can skip the faucet part or get the fitting to go from faucet to hose to PVC pipe. That is how mine will go

Only reason I'm thinking of having the faucet type attachment on the barrel is for the shut off valve in case of a leak or I need to take it apart for cleaning or something.
