Pygmies or Nigerian Dwarfs?

Here are 2 of my little monsters! They are "Agouti"

First pic is of my little surprise "Round-Up" the weed killer! He is 7 mos now, this pic was taken when he was about 8 weeks old.

just look at your Daisy doe...she really looks Nigi (I thought she was for sure)

Remember...everyone who isn't in the 'know' calls ANY small goat a "pygmy". A grade miniature goat can be a cross of anything, really...spanish (brush), African Pygmy, Nigerian...

I just love miniature animals period. Well, except chickens. I just answered an ad for an aghouti Pygmy who is bred to an ND. Now I just need to sell some chickens to pay for her and slip her past my husband

Thanks! Can't wait for the next one/s to come. My neighbor has a Black Pygmy buck that is very small and I mean very small. Some hormone thing but he is very healthy and all systems are a go! My neighbor has graciously offered stud service for my very small Auntie Baabs! She goes for a visit the month of February.......OMG waiting is going to be harder than anything!

This is a pic of my goat that my friend gave me this summer. He is a product of her ND buck crossed with an Agouti doe. His dad is all white with a black saddle down his shoulders. Don't know why he came out completely white. He has the prettiest blue eyes I ever seen! He sorta has a name but I hate it (Lambchop) it is what my friend called him. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Round-Up on the right now 7 mos. old........I can't help it......I'm so addicted to him!

Ya, for some reason Lambchop doesn't fit when I look at him. He's handsome. I know your going to be on pins and needle once your doe is bred. I thought that waiting for chicks to hatch was bad. I can't imagine waiting 5 months for kids

I have decided that I do want to bred
Daisy once she is old enough. I just don't know if I want it to be with a ND or Pygmy. I did email the seller and asked for a picture of the possible father of the kids because I loved the colors of the kids so much, so at least I know what color buck to look for. I have a lot of time to prepare and read read read so the kids have a better chance this time.

Go online to "thegoatspot.com". It is a forum like this but for goats. I go on there everyday myself because I am interested in getting a couple goats.

Do you just have one goat that you are keeping alone? Or do you have other goats? If she is alone, please get a companion as soon as possible. Goats kept alone do poorly, they're herd animals and need to be part of a herd to be healthy. A goat kept alone is stressed out, and a stressed out goat gets sick more easily.

BTW, you just revived a very old thread, from 2009...
