I separated a trio in a breeding pen today. I think I'll set eggs next month.

I want OD to cross with my Pyncheons. Your roo has willow legs? I see a different color of legs in almost every picture of Dwarfs I've come across.I wonder if they’ve considered using Olandsk Dwarf chickens to help with the genetics any? Seems like they’d be a better choice than Japanese bantams! These guys are really neat, I wish I had room to take on another breed like this. My ODs have been fun and it’s nice working with other dedicated OD owners/breeders. I’m sure the crest feather trait is dominant and my rooster has “willow” like leg color. Would be interesting to hear what folks that know more about Pyncheon genes would think![]()
What color would you say Willow is closest to? I can’t tell exactly from that picture, and it’s hard to tell online too! Is it a green hue? Or a grayish whiteish color? If it’s more green than no, he doesn’t have it. His legs are more light grayish colored. But yeah I guess if there is a standard for Pyncheons and you need specific traits the OEGB would be better, due to predictable genetics.I want OD to cross with my Pyncheons. Ahh okay, the one hen I have might be sort of close. I’ll get picsI think Willow is a yellow green.
Beautiful birds!Little Dude’s legs are more silvery pink and Henley and Hallie are more like a light yellow so nope, no willow! Their babies that just hatched have pink or yellow feet![]()
