Yeah! Did you end up using tape on any of them?

Just on A, the one that I was pretty sure was a dud due to the rapid weight loss. And now with no tilt, no heat, and no movement, I'm pretty sure I was right on that count.

Oh, tomorrow is day 30 for C! I will have to do the tilt and heat test on it.

Oh my goodness this is so eggciting! If you hatch 3 out of 4 shipped eggs that would really be amazing! I wonder what the hatch rate is typically on shipped emu eggs. I wouldn't think it would be any different than shipped chicken eggs and we know how that usually turns out. Bring on da baybeez!

Woo, my feed arrived!

After some confusion caused by me never getting a tracking number, then emailing asking about it, getting an email back this morning saying it was marked as delivered when it definitely was not delivered, calling them, talking to another CS rep who tracked it and said it was out for delivery and not delivered, because of course it couldn't be simple But it's here.

I also bought a 'chick corral' to brood the emus in and some indoor/outdoor carpeting to use as the flooring, so I am officially ready for emu chicks!

End of week 6 update!

Egg 22 has lost 71.4 grams and should have lost 71.4 grams. Literally perfect, could not have done that any better. Egg B has lost 72.3 grams and should have lost 68.9. So a little too much, but not a dangerous amount. Egg A still has a too rapid weight loss going on, but at this point it's pretty safe to say it's a dud so it doesn't matter.

Egg C is on day 30! It should have lost 60 grams and has lost 60.6, again looking really good on the weight loss.

And the exciting part, it passed the heat and tilt test! So there is probably a baby in there.

So do/will you keep these as pets or.....?

Yep! They will be kept as pets, and maybe breeders if I get a male and a female.
