C made an appearance this evening! When I went to bed it hadn't so much as externally pipped. I woke up about ten minutes ago to this:

It looked like it had been at it awhile and was really trying to push out but wasn't getting much leverage, so I popped the cap of the shell off and then it pushed itself out.

@Pyxis did you get the DNA results yet from the first emu?

No I got a note on my order from them that says they're 'repeating' the sample. Not sure if that means they're testing it again or what. But they'd only test it again if they didn't get a result from the first test, which would be weird because there was plenty of material in that shell to get DNA from - he even bled into it from his navel when he hatched. So, we'll see.

Yay 22 has a brother or sister C.... Is goosie going to be ok with another emu chick? Or is it going to be a non issue because all he knows is Emu chicks....

As for the blood sample, yes they will test it again. I have had that happen with my chicks and they just retest another spot and usually get results the second time around.
