Emu behavior update. seems the laying season is over. 18 eggs in all. both emus are eating (and pooping) like crazy. all aggression from Elvis seems to be over. two weeks ago he tried to kill me and today didn't even stop preening when i was in the pen. so the good news, the madness was only temporary. still not sure if there was actual mating. i was reading females sometimes start a second breeding season. not sure if my males hormones were triggered by the seasonal change or some hormones/pheromones from the female. so maybe it's not over. anyone know any more??
