I have 3, 3 1/2 week old chicks-wynadotte and Sussex. I moved them into a dog crate and have them on our
3 season porch with a 250w heat lamp. Temps are going to 35 tonight.
Will they be ok or should they come in?
They seem relaxed and are not cheeping excessively, like they do when
Their water is empty...hubby us willing to haul the whole thing in
For the night, should we?
Thoughts are welcome!

That's the same set up I had from the time my australorps were three weeks old and they were fine even when the temps dipped down into the 20's. I just lowered the light into the brooder a bit after dark, and they were fine. My sun room has a south east exposure, so it warmed up fast in the morning and I had to move the light back soon after sunrise.

I have my 3 weeks old chicks in my south facing sunroom, which is not heated, and they do well with the light at night even when temps are in the 30's. They do not even sleep directly under the light at those temps.

Daytime brings quick warmth so I can turn the light off early

I generally just keep an eye on them. If they're huddling together I increase the heat. If they're not under the lamp (or the lamps off and they're spread out) I figure they're warm enough.
